Pages and page settings

Add, rename, copy and delete pages in the Pages panel, and set each page's address, search title, description and sharing image. Moving a page keeps old links working.

Open Pages in the left bar, or press P. Every page is listed with its address; hover one to see a thumbnail, click it to open it.

Add a page

  1. Click New page and type a name. The address is made from it, without accents: "O nás" becomes /o-nas.
  2. Click Create. The page opens with your site's navigation and footer.
  3. Add sections from Add, or ask the agent to fill the page: "Build an About page from our existing sections".

Rename, duplicate or delete

Hover a page and click ⋯, or right-click it:

  • Rename changes the page name. The address stays.
  • Duplicate puts a copy next to the original and opens it.
  • Delete asks first and tells you how many links on your site lead to the page, because they would end on a missing page. The homepage can't be deleted.

Page settings

Settings… in the page's menu opens Page settings:

Setting What it does
Page name The name in the editor. Google shows it when the SEO title is empty.
SEO title The title in search results. The counter warns past 60 characters.
Description The text under the title in search results. Up to 160 characters.
URL The last part of the page's address.
Show in search results Off keeps the page out of Google and out of the sitemap.
Social image The picture when someone shares the page.

The preview at the top shows the page as a Google result and as a social card, exactly as it will look. A title that another page already uses gets a warning.

Moving a page keeps old links working Type a new URL and save. Every link to the page on your site is rewritten. If the site is already live, the old address sends visitors to the new one with a 301 redirect, so search results and shared links keep working. One ⌘Z undoes it all.

Page settings go live with your next publish.

Collection pages and the 404 page

  • A row like Blog · Template is the design every post of the Blog collection uses. Each post sets its own title, description and image in Content. See Collections in depth.
  • 404 is what visitors see when an address doesn't exist. It's under Utility pages and never shows in search.

Next Check every page's titles and descriptions at once in SEO overview, and send old addresses to new ones in Redirects. Both are in the Pages panel; see Page SEO and social images.
