Undo, saving and when something goes wrong

Everything saves on its own and every step can be undone, but only your own: never a teammate's or the agent's. What to do when a page can't be shown, the canvas looks stuck or a publish fails.

You can't break your live site from the editor. Changes stay in the editor until you publish, and each one is a step you can take back.

Undo and redo

Use the arrows in the top bar, or ⌘Z and ⌘⇧Z. Hover an arrow to see which step it takes back, named in plain words: "Undo: Text · Hero".

  • Your undo is yours. It never takes back a teammate's step or the agent's. An agent change has its own Undo on the page.
  • Messages have Undo too. Changes whose reach you can't see on the page, like "Saved on every page" or "Changed in all languages", come with an Undo button.
  • Collection items keep their own versions. See Write and format content.

Saving

You never need a save button. The top bar shows Saving… → Saved. If your connection drops, the editor keeps working and saves again when it's back.

After 10 minutes without activity the editor pauses to save resources; your work is saved. Press Enter to carry on. A publish, a build or a working agent keeps it awake.

A page can't be shown

If a change breaks a section's code, the page shows a card instead of a broken page:

  1. Click Undo last change. Usually the page comes back at once.
  2. If it doesn't, click Ask the agent to fix it. The error is written into the agent's box; you see the price and send it yourself.
  3. Details has the full error message, for a developer or support.

The canvas looks stuck

If the page stops updating, reload it from the site menu. Nothing on your site changes. When the site's preview is starting for the first time, the page says it's loading; if it fails, click Retry.

A publish failed

The Publish panel says what went wrong and offers Try again and Fix with agent, which opens the agent with the build output already in the box. Your live site stays as it was until a publish succeeds.

Go back to an earlier version

  • The whole site — every publish is saved as a version. Right after a publish, Undo publish puts the previous version back live. Later, use Earlier versions… in the Publish panel. See Publishing in depth.
  • A collection item — each item keeps its last 30 versions. Open its history and click Restore.
