What your client sees

Content editors, from your team or your client's, get the editor without the design tools: pages and their SEO, content, forms, comments and analytics. Text that's part of the design stays with the designers.

A Content editor opens the same site in the same editor, with less in it. Nothing to learn, nothing to break.

What's there

  • Pages — the site's pages, with each page's SEO: title, description and social image, with the Google preview.
  • Content — the collections and their items: write, publish and restore. See Content basics.
  • Forms — read and answer submissions, and export them. Where submissions go is set by someone with full access.
  • Brand — How it sounds they can change; colors, fonts and the logo they can try on the page and suggest. See How your brand looks.
  • Comments and Edit | Analyze.

There's no Layers, Add or Design, and no agent.

Edit text on the page

Double-click text that comes from content, like a blog post, a team member or a service, and type. For text that's part of the page's design, the editor says: "This text is part of the design — ask your agency to change it." A comment pinned to it does exactly that.

Publishing

  • Items in Content go live when the content editor publishes them.
  • Page SEO goes live with the next publish of the site, and the confirmation says who does that.

A client who owns the site

A client you handed the site over to owns it. They publish the site themselves and can switch to the full editor with Open full editor. Back to content editing returns to the simpler view.

Full editor for a colleague When a client invites a colleague during the handover, they choose Edits content (this view) or Builds too (the full editor).
